The Open City Initiative

Richard Feynman once stated that "[f]or a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for nature cannot be fooled." There exists also a corollary with respect to public governance at any level, that for a successful society, reality must take precedence over PR.

Drawing from a second Feynman maxim, "if you're doing an experiment, you should report everything that you think might make it invalid — not only what you think is right about it... Details that could throw doubt on your interpretation must be given, if you know them," we can again find applications to local governance.
